On Thursday the 7th of April the OpenBeer VI event took place at the Diver bar/restaurant in Kallithea. This time around we had about 35 people that came and enjoyed many different types of beer. The service at the place was great, the beers exceptional, but unfortunately it was too much of a restaurant than a pub. There was no room for us to stand and talk in the bar, so we decided to take the party outside . Yes folks, we stayed outside and we had great fun!

Personally I tried 2 different beers and they tasted great! We also had some sausages and got to meet new people that hadn’t been to the OpenBeer event before!

The BIG surprise of the night though, was that www.beer.gr came to cover the event! Yeah, the OpenBeer VI will have an article on Greece’s largest Beer portal! Isn’t that great! I will post a link to it as soon as the article is up and running! I got to see the photos too and they look great! I called Diver and made sure they were expecting all of us there tomorrow for beers! It would be a shame if the owners weren’t prepared for our visit!

As mentioned in my previous post, to visit Diver go to 65 Davaki st, Davaki square, Kallithea anytime after 20:00! Don’t be too late, or you there will not be any beer left for you!

Parking
I asked the people from Diver about a parking in the area and they told me that you can park anywhere you like. They don’t think it will be hard to find a place tomorrow, but if it is, go to the corner of Aristeidou & Ellis st. There is a car park there.

For those of you that haven’t been there before, the Diver bar is located at 65 Davaki st, Davaki square, Kallithea (Δαβάκη 65, Εμπορικό Κέντρο, Πλατεία Δαβάκη, Καλλιθέα). It is close to the “Kallithea” and “Tavros” stations, so there is easy access for all. We will start gathering from 20:00-20:30 and onwards. If you want to RSVP on FaceBook click here.

Keep in mind that the FREE Beer offers as linked to the place that the event is held. This means that since DIVER hasn’t made any offers, there is NO FREE BEER this time.

I was checking my calendar and the best time for the OpenBeer VI event seems like next week. Next week though is the week before Easter and on days like we should not be in a mood for festivities. Besides that, I am sure that some of us will be fasting, so no beer allowed and others might not even be in town.

When will the Athens OpenBeer VI take place?

So the next OpenBeer event will take place on the 7th of April 2010! It is a Wednesday. Before every OpenBeer event we first of all make venue suggestions!

For all you that don’t know the drill, this is how it goes.

In the comments area below, or on our FaceBook fan page you can make suggestions of possible venues to host the next OpenBeer. The suggestions that you all make will be processed and compiled into a Poll. This Poll will be posted here within a new blog post that usually has the word VOTE in the title. We each get to post once in that Poll and one venue is selected. The venue that is selected automatically is announced here and on our FaceBook fan page.

The selected venue is the next OpenBeer host.

You can post suggestions until the 26th of March 2010 at Midnight! At oo:01 on the 27th, the comments on this page will close. Then, the poll will be created and will remain active until the 31st of March 2010 at Midnight! On the 1st of April I will post the place and time of the OpenBeer VI event!

The place you can suggest must:

1. Be in Athens.
2. Be at close proximity to public transport for easy access.
3. Be “friendly” towards our friends with special needs, so not many stairs or no stairs is even better.
4. Be open from 19:00 onwards.
5. Serve Beer!

As I have mentioned in the past I don’t really need to add the last point, but I think that I should better be safe than sorry
