The Athens OpenBeer V event on Tuesday 23rd of February 2010 was the best OpenBeer event so far. The reason for this was because the Craft Athens bar got so packed at one stage that I felt like we where all very, very close
For all you that didn’t come, you missed out on some great fun and lots of good networking! I mustn’t forget to mention that we all enjoyed our FREE pint of beer each, special treat of mr. Panos Emmanuelides CEO of Craft!!!

As far as the video goes, well unfortunately Craft Athens was a bit too dark and the video did’t come out very well as usual, but never mind, at least we had a great time didn’t we!?

The voting period is over and the results are out! The Athens OpenBeer V Event, based on your votes, is going to take place at the Craft Athens bar on the 23rd of February 2010. For those of you that haven’t been there before, the Craft Athens bar is located at 205 Alexandras Avenue (Λεωφ.Αλεξάνδρας 205, Αθήνα). It is very close to the “Ampelokipi” Metro station, so there is easy access for all. We will start gathering from 20:00-20:30 and onwards. If you want to RSVP on FaceBook click here.

This time the poll is very interesting since there have been many suggestions thrown on the table! I got your suggestions from here and Facebook! Unfortunately I couldn’t add all your ideas to the Poll because some of them are bars located far from a Metro/Train station. This is something that would make access difficult for some and that is why I didn’t include them . Anyway, if you feel like taking public transport access into account is not worth it, next time we can suggest all the places that got left out this time, places like Beer Academy in Chalandri. It is up to you.

I would like to remind you all of the offers from Craft and James Joyce Pub:

2. After the OpenBeer IV event, the James Joyce Pub, offered free finger food!

It is time for a new OpenBeer Event! As we did last time, this is stage that we all get to propose a venue for the upcoming Athens OpenBeer V!

For all our friends that live in other cities of Greece, I would like to remind you that you can have your own OpenBeer Event as described in an older post called “Happy New Beer! New idea: Nationwide OpenBeer Events!“.

When will the Athens OpenBeer V take place?

The OpenBeer V event will take place on the 23rd of February 2010. It is a Tuesday. You will decide where, after you have suggested some venues and voted for the one you like the best!

For all you that don’t know the drill, this is how it goes.

Everyone that has a suggestion for a place (venue), just needs to post it in the comments below. Then I will gather all the answers, and create a poll with them. Once the poll is created you will get to vote on the place and when the place has been chosen, I will announce it here and on FaceBook.

You can post suggestions until the 12th of February 2010 at Midnight! At oo:01 on the 13th, the comments on this page will close. Then, the poll will be created and will remain active until the 17th of January 2010 at Midnight! On the 18th I will post the place and time of the OpenBeer V event!

The place you can suggest must:

1. Be in Athens.
2. Be at close proximity to public transport for easy access.
3. Be “friendly” towards our friends with special needs, so not many stairs or no stairs is even better.
4. Be open from 19:00 onwards.
5. Serve Beer!

I didn’t really need to add the last point, but I thought I should better be safe than sorry
