Athens OpenBeer VII venue suggestions!
Dear Beer Loving Friends,
Just before I wrote this post on Saturday I had just had a couple of pints of Murphy’s Irish Stout and felt inspired to start organizing the OpenBeer VII Event! Isn’t it just grand how Beer can motivate us when we least expect it!
When will the Athens OpenBeer VII take place?
This time I decided to organize it a bit more in advance. I guess it is the Irish Stout that’s to blame for that. So, the next event will take place on the 12th of May 2010! It is a Wednesday. Before every OpenBeer event we first of all make venue suggestions! So here we go!
For all you that don’t know the drill…
This is how it goes!
In the comments area below, or on our FaceBook fan page you can make suggestions of possible venues to host the next OpenBeer. The suggestions that you all make will be processed and compiled into a Poll. This Poll will be posted here within a new blog post that usually has the word VOTE in the title. We each get to post once in that Poll and one venue is selected. The venue that is selected automatically is announced here and on our FaceBook fan page.
The selected venue is the next OpenBeer host.
You can post suggestions until the 29th of April 2010 at Midnight! At oo:01 on the 30th, the comments on this page will close. Then, the poll will be created and will remain active until the 5th of May 2010 at Midnight! On the 6th of May I will post the place and time of the OpenBeer VII event!
The place you can suggest must:
- Be in Athens.
- Be at close proximity to public transport for easy access (Max 500m).
- Be “friendly” towards our friends with special needs, so not many stairs or no stairs is even better.
- Be open from 19:00 onwards.
- Serve Beer! Lot’s of it!!
Looking forwards to your suggestions Beer Loving Friends!
Offers from previous venues
Below are 2 offers from the OpenBeer III and IV venues. I am posting them in case you feel like revisiting.
- After the OpenBeer III event, Craft offered us each a Free Beer!
- After the OpenBeer IV event, the James Joyce Pub, offered free finger food!
Both offers are great and we thank the managers for them. If we take you up on your offers we will let you know guys!
Cheers & Beers!

I suggest the NEW “Ploughman’s Pub” that has re-opened after 3 years of been closed in a new location at the Metaxourgeio Metro Station. Check this out http://www.athinorama.gr/clubbing/articles/default.aspx?c=pub&i=1745

How about München at Melissia?
Great German beer (4 euros a half-liter weissbier glass), lots of open space outside, and some delicious German sausages should we need to maintain those love handles! Not sure about its proximity to public transport though.

I think Mike’s has shut down for some reason. Their site states: “REOPENING Saturday, September 5th”
