Athens OpenBeer V venue suggestions!
Dear Beer Loving Friends,
It is time for a new OpenBeer Event! As we did last time, this is stage that we all get to propose a venue for the upcoming Athens OpenBeer V!
For all our friends that live in other cities of Greece, I would like to remind you that
you can have your own OpenBeer Event as described in an older post called “Happy New Beer! New idea: Nationwide OpenBeer Events!“.
When will the Athens OpenBeer V take place?
The OpenBeer V event will take place on the 23rd of February 2010. It is a Tuesday. You will decide where, after you have suggested some venues and voted for the one you like the best!
For all you that don’t know the drill, this is how it goes.
Everyone that has a suggestion for a place (venue), just needs to post it in the comments below. Then I will gather all the answers, and create a poll with them. Once the poll is created you will get to vote on the place and when the place has been chosen, I will announce it here and on FaceBook.
You can post suggestions until the 12th of February 2010 at Midnight! At oo:01 on the 13th, the comments on this page will close. Then, the poll will be created and will remain active until the 17th of January 2010 at Midnight! On the 18th I will post the place and time of the OpenBeer V event!
The place you can suggest must:
- Be in Athens.
- Be at close proximity to public transport for easy access.
- Be “friendly” towards our friends with special needs, so not many stairs or no stairs is even better.
- Be open from 19:00 onwards.
- Serve Beer!
I didn’t really need to add the last point, but I thought I should better be safe than sorry
Offers from previous venues
Below are 2 offers from the OpenBeer III and IV venues. I am posting them in case you feel like revisiting.
- After the OpenBeer III event, Craft offered us each a Free Beer!
- After the OpenBeer IV event, the James Joyce Pub, offered free finger food!
Both offers are great and we thank the managers for them. If we take you up on your offers we will let you know guys!
Cheers & Beers!

Nixon doesn’t have many beers. And it’s very small. How about Beer Academy, or Vini near Sygrou fix?

George, we speak English because there are some friends that are not Greek that like to come and/or keep track of the event. During past events we have had Spaniards and Swedes! So we try to be as “universal” as possible

Hi all, I’m an OpenBeer newbie but feel converted already and would like to join you in the upcoming gathering.
My suggestion is Beer Academy in Halandri (but Beer Academy has many branches so others may be considered as well – possibly for the future):

Personally I preferred Craft in Alexandras (very spacious). Has to be somewhere down town, with easy access for all

Thanks Alex, thanks guys!
We will only be adding places that are near a Metro or Train station (within 500-1000 meters) so we can accommodate as many Beer Lovers as possible.
This poll will be very interesting since there will be so many places to choose from!!!
