OpenBeer III – Before the event

Dear friends,
It is time for a new OpenBeer event and this time I have some ideas I would like to share with you in order to make it a bit more interesting and fun! The whole idea is to have a fun experience, before, during and after the event, so I have made some new “rules” or should I better say some new “suggestions” you might like to follow, in order to get the fun pumping! Before I continue, I would like to add that the OpenBeer ΙΙΙ event will take place on the 10th of December 2009, before we all go away for Christmas but still during the holiday season. That way every one feels the holy, jolly energy in the air!

Before I continue, I would like to say that this blog is a work in progress and due to the fact that I don’t have any free time on my hands, you will have to bare with any imperfections that you might notice! Also, I would like to note that even though the event takes place in Greece and mostly Greeks attend, we do have foreign friends that don’t read Greek. This is why everything is in English.

Before

So, this time our beloved OpenBeer III event will not be held at the place I choose. Last time I felt a bit guilty not making the best selection for all of us, so I thought that the best way to go this time, is for each one of us to select a place (in Athens) for the OpenBeer III event and suggest it here, in our new Blog at www.openbeerevent.com! Tomorrow I will prepare a blog page, on which you can all make suggestions of places until Friday the 4th of December 2009. Once the deadline is reached, I will post a Poll with all your suggestions, no matter how many they are! Then, all of us will be able to vote for our favorite places until the best place wins at Midnight on the 7th of December. This will leave us with 3 full days to vote for our favorite spot for the next OpenBeer. Try to suggest places that can accommodate everyone, even our friends that can’t make it up stairs.
On the 7th of December at Midnight, we will all see the name of the place that will host the next OpenBeer III, live! Once this part is over, I will make a Facebook event and you can all RSVP there!

During

Hopefully many will arrive, even more Twitters and Facebookers than arrived last time! While at the event, the fun can continue by posting Live Videos to Qik, posting photos to Flickr, Twitter, Moby, Brightkite, Facebook, Posterous and any other social network or Blog that you like! All our friends around Greece, Europe and the World that will not be able to make it will have the opportunity to experience what we are experiencing from their home, office or mobile device, possible with a pint of Beer in their hand!

Once the party is over, we can all upload our Videos and Pictures anywhere we like and start sending links to the www.openbeerevent.com blog. This way we can have a blog page with links to everything we uploaded from the OpenBeer event of December 2009!

I have some other ideas to make the event even better and would LOVE to hear your ideas too! I am saving them though for next time, that way we can have something to look forward too.
